Event Details

In this All Party Parliamentary Group on Wellbeing Economics event, Professor Tim Jackson, Lord Robert Skidelsky and Anna Coote will discuss whether economic growth is essential to our wellbeing in the short- and long-term; whether it is possible to move to another economic model where growth, as currently understood, is unnecessary; and how we could we achieve greater wellbeing under such a model.

Tim Jackson, Professor of Sustainable Development at Surrey University, and author of Prosperity without Growth.

Lord Robert Skidelsky, Emeritus Professor of Political Economy at the University of Warwick,  biographer of J. M. Keynes and co-author the forthcoming book, How Much is Enough? Economics and the Good Life.

Anna Coote, Head of Social Policy at nef (the new economics foundation) and co-author of the report, 21 Hours: Why a shorter working week will help us all to flourish in the 21st century.
